AAUW Funds

AAUW Funds, the heart of AAUW, are the largest source in the world of post-graduate grants and fellowships for women. Some of the most commonly designated funds are:

Educational Opportunities Fund AAUW provides more than $3 million each year in fellowship and grants to outstanding women and nonprofit corporations. Every year a few women working on masters, doctoral or other post-graduate projects at Oregon universities are among the grant recipients.

Legal Advocacy Fund This fund supports plaintiffs in sex discrimination cases and provides grants to help colleges and universities fight sexual harassment and assault on campus.

Eleanor Roosevelt Fund Funds are provided for research reports on subjects that address obstacles—such as lack of girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics courses—to education and job advancement for women and girls.

Public Policy Fund This fund gives members the tools to address government policies that limit opportunities for women.

Leadership Programs Fund These funds are devoted to programs that inspire leadership qualities in women on college campuses.

All funds are tax-deductible.

Local Scholarships

In addition to those funds which are dispersed on the national level, the Medford Branch raises funds for Jackson County women attending Rogue Community College and Southern Oregon University through individual donations to The Phantom Tea. Members also choose the AAUW scholarship recipients by participating in the schools’ selection process.
